Ta Van is a little village set deep in the picturesque Muong Hoa valley. From Sapa, travelling down the winding trails on the mountain around 10km, you will reach Ta Van commune. Here, casting an eye to the distance, you can see in the mist a suspension bridge crossing the Muong Hoa stream - the way to Ta Van Giay Village and the temple - where the Giay ethnic festival "Nao Cong" is held.
On two sides of the road are fertile terraced fields of young corn and rice. Upon arrival at Ta Van Giay Village, visitors will be charmed with the rustic house and warm hospitality of Giay ethnic homestay.
Giay people reside in cluster with hundreds of huts around the foothills, valleys and along the streams. Costumes of the Giay are simple: women wearing trousers with wide tube; braided bun hair style and cloth bags with embroidered flowers; men also wear trousers, shirt and head scarf.
