Immersion in the inhabitant: cooking lessons and ornithological park

To really discover another culture, you have to immerse yourself totally in a country. Come and spend a morning with a family to experience life in the countryside and learn authentic recipes.

If beautiful encounters make beautiful journeys, this one will certainly be one.

We decided to take our travellers to the countryside, to meet a family of farmers to discover and experience their culture. We have selected a bucolic house, in front of the rice fields, to learn the most authentic Khmer recipes. On the menu, the national dish: amok, or Khmer curry, as well as other dishes. Most fruits and vegetables come from the garden and recipes are passed down from generation to generation.

Budding cooks will have to get involved: gardening, cooking lessons... or rest in a cool hammock facing the rice fields. Welcome to the Khmer countryside.

Total and natural immersion

The eldest of this family being a guide in the nearby nature reserve, it is possible to visit the park by boat. Binoculars, dictionaries illustrated on birds and fresh water will be on the program. Of course, the best time is at dawn because it can be extremely hot during the day (over 40 degrees) in summer.

For which types of travellers?

- To discover life in the countryside, the real

- For gourmets

- With family or friends

Good to know

The most famous ornithological reserve being PrekToal, it attracts many tourists. We have therefore chosen another reserve accessible only by boat. And your hosts, who live in a few places, will be your guides themselves.
